The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Division, Ministry of Education, Government of India, is organizing a conference “Mahakal: The master of time” Timeless traditions of astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology from 15th to 17th January 2026 at Ujjain, the historic centre of cosmic knowledge. The conference aims to promote awareness of India’s traditional astronomical instruments and ancient astronomical wisdom among students, teachers, and innovators.

As part of the initiative, IKS Division, in collaboration with MyGov, is hosting this Quiz which is specifically designed for those who will be guiding student teams participating in the Mahakal Astronomy Instrument Competition.

Gratification:

  • All participants will receive an e-Certificate of Participation.
  • Top 5 participants will be invited to the Mahakal conference to be held in Ujjain in January 2026.

Terms and Conditions

  • 1. The quiz is open to all Indian citizens.
  • 2. The quiz commences as soon as the participant clicks on Play Quiz.
  • 3. The quiz is available in English.
  • 4. Multiple entries from the same participant will not be accepted.
  • 5. It is a time-bound quiz, you will have 600 seconds to answer 20 questions.
  • 6. Participants will be required to provide their name, email address, telephone number, and additional details as required by the entry form. By submitting their details and participating in the quiz, participants give consent to MyGov and IKS division to use this information as required to facilitate the conduct of the quiz, which may include confirmation of participant details.
  • 7. Any detection of unfair practices, including impersonation or multiple participation, will render the entry null and void. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify such entries.
  • 8. IKS division will be responsible for the disbursement of any gratification, if any.
  • 9. Multiple entries from the same participant will not be accepted.
  • 10. Discovery/detection/noticing of use of any unfair/spurious means/malpractices, including but not limited to impersonation, double participation etc., during the participation in the quiz, will result in the participation being declared null and void and hence, rejected. The organizers of the quiz competition or any agency acting on their behalf reserves the right in this regard.
  • 11. Employees directly or indirectly associated with the organisers, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.
  • 12. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Ministry of Education and MyGov reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the competition at any time or cancel the competition as they consider.
  • 13. Organizers will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, are late or incomplete or have not been transmitted due to computer error or any other error beyond the organizer’s reasonable control. Please note proof of submission of the entry is not proof of receipt of the same.
  • 14. The decision of the IKS Division of MoE on all matters concerning the quiz will be final and binding.
  • 15. The participants shall abide by all the terms and conditions of the quiz competition, including any amendments or further updates.
  • 16. All disputes/ legal complaints are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi only. Expenses incurred for this purpose will be borne by the parties themselves.
  • 17. The decision of the IKS Division, Ministry of Education and MyGov on the Quiz shall be final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the same.

  • 19. The terms and conditions henceforth shall be governed by Indian laws and the judgments of the Indian judicial system.
  • 20. By participating in the Quiz, the participant accepts and agrees to be bound by the above-mentioned terms and conditions.
